What is a Brand New Beat all About?
A Brand New Beat emphasizes early childhood development using music, movement, and play as the vehicles for learning. We provide music and movement classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers using programs designed by the Music Class.
Research has shown creative activities provide children with important experiences that can help them develop physical coordination, timing, memory, visual, aural and language skills.
The opportunity to experience the joy of music is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give a child. Come join teachers, Kendra Pearson and Tanya Ross, and experience a sense of true community and bonding in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Classes
Ages: 0 – 4 years. The Music Class is a fun, musically enriched program for children ages newborn to four years with parent participation. Join music teachers, Kendra Pearson (B. Mus. A., B.A., B. Ed., Music Specialist) and Tanya Ross (B. Mus. Perf., B. Ed., Music Specialist) in a hands-on, energetic musical environment. Singing, movement, rhythm instruments, scarves and playful props encourage children to experiment with music in their own ways. Children observe others keeping beat and singing, and are encouraged to join in whenever they are ready. Even the youngest children will benefit from listening to the wide variety of quality music from around the globe.
Parents join in the fun by learning new songs and playful ways to encourage their children’s musicality. Additionally, each family receives a recording and songbook to help their child to continue develop his or her musical abilities at home.

A Brand New Beat encourages learning through play! Children absorb basic concepts in music such as tempo, beat, rhythm and pitch through the curriculum while singing, dancing and playing rhythmic instruments. Rhythmic instruments are specifically designed for little hands and are non-toxic and safe to use.
A Brand New Beat maintains an informal instruction style that allows children to participate as they choose at their own developmental level. This format provides the fun and relaxed atmosphere in which children learn best.
A Brand New Beat offers a child the opportunity to create and play in a safe, musically rich environment. Our approach to early childhood music is to explore and experience the music and how it moves us. A child’s self-expression is fostered, embraced and celebrated!
